Warm Beach Volunteers Recognized!
— Thursday, May 6th, 2010 by WBSC
We here at Warm Beach Senior Community always feel that we have so much to be proud of. We have some wonderful residents and staff, and one of the beautiful blessings our community is proud of is the spirit of volunteerism that we seem to possess in abundance!
On April 26th, we celebrated this spirit with our Volunteer Appreciation. In 2009, we logged an outstanding total of 31,188 hours of community service amongst our residents. To celebrate this amazing accomplishment, we invited local harpist Bronn Journey to perform a special concert in honor of our volunteers. Denise Baker, Alyssa Jonson, and Manisha Desai, three of our staff members, all spoke about how much good volunteers do in all departments of our community.
Also joining in our celebrations was a representative from the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), an organization that tracks volunteerism among seniors throughout the country. Eleven of our residents will be honored on May 25th at a special luncheon, where they will receive the President's Volunteer Service Award. The criteria for receiving this award involves logging 4,000 volunteer hours, and we as a communtiy are grateful to have so many generous residents who have achieved this honor. We hope that as Spring progresses, you are also able to find the valuable time to enjoy the wonderful feeling of giving back!
