NEWS FLASH
Warm Beach Health Care Center is one of the first recipients of Medicare’s top quality rating of FIVE STARS. Fewer than 12% of all nursing homes nation-wide have received the government’s highest Five Star Rating. This newly created award is based on three sources of data: Health Inspections, Staffing and Quality Measures. The rating system is a result of the Omnibus Reconciliation Act of 1987, the nursing home reform law providing additional tools to assist consumers with information to make educated choices in selecting nursing care for their loved ones. One of these tools, which should not take the place of a personal visit, is the website medicare.gov allowing consumers to compare nursing homes in their desired areas.
Comprehensively, the inspection process looks at all major aspects of care in a nursing home focusing on approximately 180 different items. On-site annual visits are done by trained, objective federal and state surveyors who inspect each nursing home to check the quality of care, inspect medical records, and talk with residents about their care. Federal surveyors work to make sure the national process is followed.
Larry Foss, Warm Beach’s Executive Director states, “Our hard working, dedicated care team provides loving, personal and professional care to our residents every day. We are very proud to have received the Five Star Rating!”
