Alerting a Name Change!

Beginning in the new year, the group of singers who have been known as The Warm Beach Men's Chorus will be promoted as the Beachwood Boys!  This came about by unanimous acclamation at their last practice.  Come join this enthusiastic group of men singers.  Regular practice is held on Wednesdays at 3:00pm in the Cedar Court dining room beginning January 18th.

New Washers

April 30th is right around the corner, and plans are well underway for our All You Can Eat Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction.  Auction items are being collected from generous residents, local businesses, family members, staff and friends of Warm Beach Senior Community.

Bazaar HUGE Success!

THANK YOU to all of you who attended the Warm Beach Fellowship Holiday Bazaar!  The two day bazaar featuring collectibles, homemade goodies, farmer's market, hand-made gifts and books for sale brought in $10,300!  100% of the proceeds from this event will go towards buying new mattresses for the Skilled Nursing Center.

Volunteers Keep the Thrift Store Humming

Thrift store manager Lena Van Gilder was asked recently how she would choose a thrift store volunteer to recognize.  "How could I, she exclaimed, everyone here is so dedicated, what would we do without each and every one of them?  It takes every one of them and their special gifts to make the Thrift store work so well.  We have over forty five volunteers, some who have been doing this for fourteen years or long."

Silent Auction is a Success!

THANKS TO EVERYONE for the tremendous support given to help make the 2nd Annual Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction such a great success.  The total raised that evening was $6028.50.  The Vanderlift has been purchased and much appreciated by the staff in nursing.

The Warm Beach Senior Community Thrift Shop offers many treasures to be used for your enjoyment or gifts for others.  Various items are added to the shelves everyday.  For your convenience, the store is open 1:00-5:00p.m., Monday-Friday and 10:00-5:00p.m. on Saturdays.  While experiencing "thrift shopping," you'll be aiding the Senior Community as well.

Country Breakfast Fundraiser was a success!

Great news!  The October 10th Community Country Breakfast Raffle and Fundraiser was a great success!  We raised enough money to purchase a new steam table for the Nursing Home activity dining room.  Thank you everyone who joined us in supporting this project.

Joey Harris Recipient of Scholarship

Joey Harris was awarded the Aging Services of Washington Scholarship on October 10th by Executive Director, Larry Foss.  She was surprised as her name was called but could not contain her joy as she realized a whole quarter of Nursing School was paid for.  Joey has been a NAC her for 4 years and is pursuing her RN license.

Keeping Us In Stitches

In the mid-1930's, a young high school student started learning her way around the sewing machine.  She had such an aptitude for it that her teacher let her skip study hall to sew things, including two dresses for the teacher herself!
