Writer’s Club

There is no teacher, no critic, no editor-just a chance to express yourself.
Our leader, Don Kerlee is a retired professor and administrator who currently is writing "letters to my grandchildren" showing the correlation between the Bible and astronomy. Ivy Kerlee talks about her early life, their adopted children, and various trips they have taken.
Arnold Cook was also a professor at Houghton College, New York for thiry years. He wrote a book about his "growing-up" days, histories of all his cars, and again trips around the world. His sense of humor shines through all his writing and Arnold does not use cliche's but descriptive words in all his work. Betty Cook is a botanist, using pictures and colorful descriptions of her discoveries in the plant world.
Gene Davidson was a pastor for nine years and a mechanical engineer for many more. He writes, "meditations" for the Stanwood-Camano newspaper. He can tell you anything you want to know about gliders - a main interest in his life.
As with many of us here at Warm Beach, Carl and Betty Anne Friedericks are writing their memoirs and have been sharing some of their adventures in Nepal. Betty Anne even brought a shoo-fly pie (but no pizza!) to show what she was able to concoct out of "nothing" on their trek over the mountains.
Our latest member, Dorene Wilson, said, "I didn't think I had any 'talent' for writing, and then the Lord impressed upon me to make 'prayer cross-stics' from the intials of a person's name to encourage them. Some people have told me theirs arrived at just the right time."
As for me, I'm interested in people and what has happened in their lives.
In our library there is a separate shelf of "Warm Beach Authors" - writers past and present - very interesting. So-happy reading and happy writing!
