Art Weekend

We can glorify God with expressions of the talents we have.  This includes all types of art.  At the Art Show we had 145 pieces of art made by 35 Warm Beach Senior Community residents.  We had two visiting artists, Harry Engstrom from Arlington and Betty Marsh from Camano Island.  Harry presented a demonstration with instruction in a beautiful chalk drawing.

Our show included a program.  Helen Nelson sang with Laurel Boone playing the piano.  Virginia Kiyasu played the tambourine to the accompaniment of a recording: On Eagles Wings.  Carl and Betty Anne Friedericks, who have been a medical missionary team in India, Nepal, China, Nigeria and beyond, read stories they had written.  Betty Cook read three of her poems, The Three Graces.  She also read Arnold Cook's story of The Golden Years.

We all enjoyed refreshments.  We found that Cooking is also an art.  As a community we praise God for the many expressions of His love that we can use to bless the world.  This weekend it was Art.  We have been able to invest our talents wisely for the Lord, for His glory.  In doing so our world becomes a better place to be.
